Remembrance Day 2025

Our ship had a wonderful Remembrance Day ceremony this morning at 0700h. Gary and I dragged ourselves out of bed to attend. Thank you to all of you who have served our country in one form or another. 🇨🇦 🥰

Before I dive into today’s port, let’s look at some photos from yesterday’s chocolate buffet!

Handmade chocolates

I had no idea what to choose, so my server just gave me an assortment to try!

We took these to our room

Today we are on the largest Greek Island in the Ionian Sea called Kefalonia. Argostoli is its main city with about 13,666 people.

Many of us headed down the lovely promenade toward the turtle viewing area.

Promenade

Although the sightings were very few, I asked God to send a turtle for Gary to photograph, and He answered my prayer! The massive creature surfaced right beside us and Gary was ready!

The fishing boats had come in and fishermen were removing the fish that were tangled in their nets.

Fish for sale!

This reminded me of Jesus’s disciples fishing with their nets.

Such patience!

The DeBosset Bridge is the longest pedestrian stone bridge in Europe, so we walked about half way in the lovely morning sun.

Calm waters

I peeked into the Church of Panagia Greek Orthodox church.

So ornate!!

We headed back to the ship to pick up the postcards that I had forgotten to mail, and then we ventured back out after lunch.

Agios Spiridon Bell Tower

Unfortunately, we never found a place to buy stamps, but we did have a lovely conversation with a young pharmacist. She told us that the government post office has shut down, and now mail is privatized. I guess I will try to mail postcards in Italy.😊

Sunset on our ship

Tomorrow is a sea day and we are on our way to Sicily!

Farewell until then.
