It was a difficult task to try to choose which photos to post today. We took over 150 of this stunning medieval UNESCO World Heritage Site!

Dubrovnik is known as the Pearl of the Adriatic and is a very popular tourist destination. Game of Thrones and The Last Jedi have been filmed here, and fans flock to see the filming locations.
The city itself has a population of just under 42,000 people. The Croatian War of Independence occurred as recently as 1991, and now they are an independent nation.
We chose to take a shuttle from the ship to the old town to save our energy for walking the city walls which cost 40 Euro per person for a ticket. Although we had the odd rain shower which made the stone walkway slippery, we enjoyed our time immensely!

Because it was Sunday morning, church bells ran about every 15 minutes.
I even managed to observe a few minutes of the Croatian Catholic church service at the Church of Saint Blais (their Patron Saint). I hummed along with a beautiful hymn which I don’t know the name of.

We took a tour of the Rector’s Palace (like a governor), Franciscan Monastery, and peeked into the third oldest continuously functioning pharmacy in the world. It opened in 1317 but was closed today because it is Sunday.

Our pharmacy in Medicine Hat was the oldest in the city in its original location and we thought that was old!😂

This fountain was built in 1438 but was damaged in the earthquake of 1667. It has been repaired and now has 16 different masks that give potable water to anyone who wishes to drink from it!

We did some shopping and sampled cherry strudel and a pistachio cream-filled sugar donut before heading back to our ship. Sorry, no photos, but they were delicious!
