Day 13 January 29

It was a beautiful morning in Tauranga and we wandered down to the pier search of food. We found a bakery with cinnamon rolls that had apricots and custard instead of cinnamon and sugar. Delicious!!

The GPS was set for Matamata, the starting point for our tour of Hobbiton, the set for The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and the Hobbit Trilogy. The town has now become famous because Peter Jackson chose a farm just outside of town to create the Shire for the movies. He was a stickler for details, and it shows.

It was the most beautiful day of the summer, the locals said; 29 degrees and sunny.

Gary had the challenge of trying to take pictures with no tourists in them.
