Sydney Continues

Day 5. Sydney

We felt refreshed after 11 hours of sleep at the Radisson in downtown Sydney. We are enjoying the contrast of the amenities of the city next to the scenery of the ocean and tropical flowers and trees.

We had an unfortunate incident as we tried to download Gary’s photos onto the iPad tonight, and as a result, all of his photos were deleted from his camera. 😦

Thankfully, there are only a few photos which are a loss. One of them was a photo of Laura next to a dead fish in the Fish market. But I digress..

We started the day with breakfast and then went to wait for the Free bus that would take us to the Opera House as we had tickets for the Magic Flute at 11. Unfortunately, we never found the free bus, so we started walking, and arrived just as it started to rain.

The opera was in English, and we actually enjoyed it! The set and costumes were very well done as well.

We continued our tour of the city by walking to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. This is the view from there:

From there we walked to the fish market where we enjoyed eating fresh shrimp and salmon. Laura had a bacon/cheese bun of sorts since she does not enjoy seafood.

Our walk continued on to Darling Harbour and then back to our hotel. It was a long day, so a soak in the hot tub and a visit to the steam room was in order.

Tomorrow we leave Sydney for Gladstone, so we must be up by 4:45.
Here is a view inside the opera house

Lest I forget a verse for today: Proverbs 5:18b. “Rejoice in the wife (or husband) of your youth.”

Wow, you’re packing lots into your trip! Sorry to hear about the pics. Using some of Gary’s past favorites tonight to create prayer posters! Safe travels to Gladstone tomorrow.
