Cartagena 2.0

We returned to this beautiful port in Nov 17/25. Check our first post from December 8/23.

War memorial

In 227 BC, this city was founded by the Carthaginians. Today this city of around 220,000 people enjoys the privilege of being the warmest city in continental Europe. The tradition of shutting down shops in the afternoon for a siesta continues here as well.

Gary and I decided to retrace our steps to find our grumpy gelato man from last time, but his shop was closed today. Perhaps next time.

We returned to the bakery, called Kuss and had a cappuccino and two pastries.

Morning coffee break

The lemon tart was perfect as was the mille feuille, a flaky pastry filled with custard (which we happened to have ordered last time as well!)

Different Christmas decorations from last time
Hello to my sister Joy!

Notice the lovely pavement!

We did some shopping today, and Gary found my Christmas gift at a perfume store, of which there are many in this shopping district.

Church bell ringing at noon

Strolling past the ancient Roman ruins, we made our way back to the ship.

Yesterday we attended the onboard church service. Here is a clip of our hymn singing.

Blessed Assurance Hymn

Our service leader read Psalm 91: it speaks of the security of one who trusts in the Lord! 🥰

We will be on our way to Malaga shortly!
