Dec 3/23

It is Sunday on this the last of our Greek island stops. We were told that there are 365 churches on this island, one for every day of the year.
We chose to walk the 30 minute walk into town from the ship, and as we got closer to the waterfront we could hear someone singing through a loudspeaker. There was a Greek Orthodox church service being broadcasted to the main restaurant area, so I could listen and wander at the same time.
We found one of the most famous churches just around the corner: the Panagia Paraportiani. This is a collection of 5 churches all built around each other starting in the 14th century.

Little Venice is an area just a few minute’s walk from there.

Up the hill from there are the famous wooden windmills, originally used to grind grain.

We found more Grecian cats.

The marina has many beautiful boats.

Gary enjoyed taking photos while I did some beachcombing.

Gary took this photo reflecting off of a motorbike mirror. He said, “Looking back, Pearl has done a lot of souvenir shopping.” 😂
The locals are now coming out and the restaurants are starting to fill up as families meet for Sunday brunch.
Tomorrow we have a sea day, and then Sicily on Tuesday.
Enjoy your day😊
