After another two days at sea, we arrived in the beautiful city of Huatulco on January 7th. Although it has a population of 50,000, the port itself has a sleepy fishing village vibe.

We were thankful to be able to enjoy a gorgeous 32 degree day on the beach.
We enjoyed time in the water.

Since the boat was so close, we went back for our buffet lunch, and then went for a walk to explore the port.

After leaving this lovely port, we were faced with a hurricane 2 force wind of up to 80 knots or 148 km per hour. The ship was at an angle of several degrees for several hours, and this caused food to fall off of the buffet and water to flow out of the pools.

Not wanting to miss out on the fun, we sat on the 16th floor on lounge chairs and watched a movie on the outdoor big screen tv while eating popcorn, snuggling in blankets, and listening to the howling wind. The wind eventually lessened and we enjoyed a peaceful night. 😁
