Day 19 Tuesday February 4
We had an interesting night. The “Road Works” or “Construction Crew” decided to rip out the pavement on the street beside our hotel last night and replace it throughout the night. It would seem as if the hotel owner decided not to share this information with us. At 11:30 pm, Gary and I decided to go out and check the progress. Amazingly, we were able to sleep, and they finished up around 3:30 this morning.
The sky was cloudy when we left Timaru this morning, but it cleared up and we had another glorious day. We travelled to Queenstown, about a 4 hour drive. We had a few stops along the way, including cherry picking at Cromwell.
We checked into our hotel in Queenstown. It is like Banff, but it has a beautiful lake as well:
It is very busy here. Now we know where all of the people were from yesterday. We were able to book a few excursions at the tourist information booth: Milford Sound tomorrow and a Lord of the Rings Location tour for Thursday.
Gary had fun taking some scenery photos tonight:
Proverbs 19:21
“Many are the plans in the mind of a man,
but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand.” ESV
