We have arrived! We were not looking forward to our Asiana flight to Sydney as we had seen some bad reviews in the Internet, but to our delight we were on a beautiful Boeing 777. We enjoyed Korean and western cuisine, blankets, pillows, and complimentary dental hygiene products in the bathrooms. We were able to get about 5 hours of sleep, so when we finally got to our hotel around 10:30 this morning, we decided to start exploring after freshening up!
We enjoyed a delightful lunch at the Din Tai Fung restaurant located in the World Square Tower. They are famous for their dumplings which we sampled and enjoyed.
Next we headed on foot to the Royal Botanic Gardens, a huge park filled with beautiful tropical plants and birds. We were fortunate to come upon a flock of wild parrots which Gary and Laura were able to get close to:
We continued on to the Art Gallery of New South Wales for a complimentary viewing of their paintings and sculptures, and then made it back to our hotel room before the rain started. We enjoyed a nice supper at a pub called “Three Wise Monkeys”.
After soaking our tired muscles in the hot tub, we are ready to call it an early night!
